A new hose and new clamp. It's covered under a campaign recall by MB. Depending on how far you are from a dealer and how mechanically inclined you are, it is an easy do it yourselfer. DUVAL motorcars has the part for about $37.00. I would have had to take a 1/2 day off work, travel 70+ miles, wait and then return. It was cheaper to do myself.

Hi, any tips on changing that hose, especially the non-radiator side?

Jack up the driver side, secure it and be prepared to get your hands dirty because you have to feed the new hose down through the engine compartment down to the rack. The hose will come with new 'keepers' (rubber slot rings that hold hose in place to the metal clamps). Not really a big deal. You'll be draining all your fluid out, though so you'll have to refill. Also, you'll get a lot of air in the system. You can get most of it out by letting it idle for awhile after filling, then parking on a steep incline and turning steering wheel all the way to the left and all the way to the right several times until all air is gone.

Err.. I think I fixed it the wrong way then...

I had the same problem where the hose came off once.. I got home and manged to tighten it up and fill up. A few days later in cold weather it poped open again and this time I cut half an inch off the hose and reclamped it only for it to come off the same night so I got a small length of hose, extra clamps and a lenght of steel tubing and created an extension. So far it has held up fine. I was actually thinking that it should be enough to take it to the dealer but I guess I am not going to bother any more.

Thanks!
