Why not combine all your comparisons into one thread?
It depends what you want. MDX has more useful space but less useful for off-roading, whereas ML is likely more capable offroad and more of a truck. MDX reliability seems to be better, but in the end you asking a group of MERCEDES ENTHUSIASTS, so what do you think they are going to say?

Man you are in the wrong place asking for a car comparison over here are only mercedes enthusiasts like lastprodigy said get whatever you want but remember mercedes is a mercedes and doesnt loose value as fast as an acura and is one of the best cars in the world.
I just read that the 2005 acura MDx is safer then the ML 350. So i dont know which one to choose.
Ummm...I would choose MB over a Honda any day in a real world crash situation.
This is more than about simulated crash tests. The Honda is a much lighter car and is built on the Honda Accord platform.
There are very few companies outside of MB and Volvo that send engineers to real world accident sites to examine how the cars/trucks behave in real world situations.
If you look at the roof pillar alone of the Honda/acura or toyo/lex or even GM/Fords, the B and C pillars are typically not crash structural. They are 'cosmetic' and useful for hanging the doors/windows.
On the ML all 8 pillars are triple strength alloy and are structural. Read the numerous crash results.

'05 MDX safer than the ML? I doubt it. For those model years, I'd go with the ML.
The MDX underwent a major redesign for the '07 MY. I think a better comparison is the '07-'08 MDX vs. same-year ML. Both are top safety picks by the NHTSA and the Insurance Institute (e.g. see IIHS crash test results), and are virtually the same price. You'd be happy with either one.

I think the MDX is a better street car, and ML a better truck.
Best way of describing it, period. The MDX is a FWD platform with a Rear drive system added. The ML is a true 4x4 with low range transfer case. It also has a full truck frame under it. It is up to you if that stuff is important to you. MDX will have less "issues" but it also has less soul. Things like soul are important to me, but may not be important at all to you, and that is ok. This is why we have so many car choices out there.
I bought the ML because other than the Cayenne (too expensive for me) and the Land Rover (talk about unreliable), it was the most off road capable rig out there with the level of comfort, style and posh I expect.
