I wouldn't mess with it. I simply installed the Pioneer antenna on the dash inside the car right next to my XM antenna. If you would like a picture let me know. The D2 sees all the birds fine.

Just got system installed this weekend. I'll take pics and post. I have a little different approach on the antenna because some people said they had trouble with the Antenna inside. I pulled the factory antenna, fed the wire thru the hole, used the magnetic plate inside the car and used hot glue to seal around the wire coming out. Not quite as clean a look as I would like but only can see really close. I plan to use a little black calking to smooth the seal.
