Question Lost SRS Badge

Hello all....

My SRS Badge on Driver Side Door had poped out and it got lost.....

I have contacted MB dealer and SA told me that I have to replace whole door panel, and will cost me approx. $1300... I can not believe that how MB rip off customers with unreasonable parts cost. Do you know where I can find aftermarket parts? or find it from junk yard?

thank you in Advance..

LOL, that's too funny.
You can always claim the missing badge as a safety factor. I mean, someone may not know it is an airbag and sleep on it. Would the lemon law cover this ?

It's sad that they would even tell you that you need to replace the whole door panel. That badge is a $1 plastic piece that's supposed to come off.

This one definitely ranks up there with the $600 Army toilet seat.
BTW my 99 SRS label is stamped on the cover ;-) Can't ever fall off.

He's talking about the door panel, not the passenger airbag

Mine are all there still, but 3 of 4 have come loose since we bought it in december. Don't want to lose them. If replaced, will the clip typically hold? They pop back in but snap back. Don't care about the badges, but don't want holes in my door panels. Any thougths? Common problem?
