Lift Kit

Anybody can recomend decent lift kit for '99 ML320?
I was thinking to lift it about 4" and get BFG tires as well.
Thanks

GOOD LUCK! There ain't much out there. I have a 2001 ml320 with much larger tires. All I could do was crank up the front torsion bars and space out the rear springs. You would be surprised what you can fit under there! Check out this site- Wolfgang's ML Page: Mercedes M-Class Offroad Mods
I used many ideas off of this site including putting an awesome winch on the front of my ML!! email me back for pix. zatffej@aol.com

OK, Dave, get the spacers from the back of your truck. Trace them in a piece of cardboard and send them my way, I can have them cut in aluminum to different thickness, from 1/2" to 1.5", anything else won't look too good, unless you want an ML Monster Truck.

Know what? I'll try to work on an entire lift kit, shox, springs, spacers, and whatever else needed. I'm so tired of guys, like myself, looking all over the place for such a simple thing and having a truck so capable of off-roading.
Now, how much is people willing to pay? Don't expect the same price as a Ford/Chevy/domestic lift kit price for sure.

I haven't been around here for MONTHS. The ML just turned over 100k miles. Taking the lift spacers out is no easy task.

What's up, V?

Yeah, I just came back a couple of weeks ago looking for info on the GL, and checked this side of the forum.
Where did you get the spacers from? I'll try to source a "kit" for ML owners.

Guys I found this site that sells G500 springs, I found from other post that some guys are replacing the stock ml320 spring with G500 springs. I haven't done it myself but I from the other post you can fit 33's one you replace the springs.
See link below:

i figure i'd update this thread and ask if any of the older "off road" guys messed with the body lift. I know there was a few discussions a long time ago about it, just seemed like it didn't go anywhere.

I really want to run 285's, but the suspension setup is just maxed out as it is really. torsion bars and rear washers/spacers is about all it can handle. The extra inch from the body would be perfect, i really don't feel like bein a test dummy for it though. I'm also not sure how well the 3.2 will like the 285's, its very slow as it is.

The reason i asked is the ML is due for some service. I have 156k on it, original suspension and all. I also am running 265/75 Pro Comps, and i doubt i'll see 20k out of them. I also just punctured one an hour ago. So new tires will be coming up (maybe wheels as well). So i'll be retiring it for a while in the spring to get some much needed service done.

Other then whats been mentioned (bumpers, shiftergate, steering rack), everything else seems like it'd be fine for an inch.

Any new news i'm not aware of fellers?

From other posts, some guys are replacing either coil springs from a G500, and/or adding spacers on the rear coils. That adds 1inch not really much but if you crank the torsion bars, that gives you another 1inch, plus bigger tires which may add an inch or two. Also you can remove and replace the rear and front bumpers with tuberlars link tonk. Have you seen tonk pics yet? it's awesome man one of the best ML320 offroad ready I've seen.
