Had the classic leaking washer bottle and found it to be the grommets that seal the two pumps to the washer bottle. I ended up getting two new pumps because the old ones were so brittle and broke when touched. The new grommets did not fit tightly into the bottle holes which seemed odd. They were a little tighter when I installed the pumps and seemed to hold water unless you touched or swiveled the pump then water would leak at the new grommet. It doesn't seem like I got the right grommets. I cant believe they are not a good tight fit from the start - do they swell or something. Anyway I put everything in the ML and hooked up all the lines and filled the bottle with just water and the jets worked front and rear. Looked over the system the next day and all the water had leaked out down to the grommet level. Anyone done the grommet replacement before?
Had the same issue on 2001 ML55. The original grommet just deteriorated.
I had 25-years old in perfect condition from my 123 in the past, but as you experienced it was too small. Took me 3 trips to stealer to special order the right size. for almost $5.
