i am using this filter for 12K miles already. i read the comments on it later than i bought it, but as of yet i can't complain. regarding the engine noise, i doubt it would change dramatically (if at all). i didn't hear the difference comparing to the older oem filter.

No power or noise change that I can tell. However, the filter is getting to the 20,000 mile point so the biggest item is the cost of the air filter.
Yes, the K&N is a bigger hit up front, but I'd be purchasing my third regular filter at this point. This service it is also time for brakes...the fun never stops.

Same with me here. It is just the cost to keep replacing a disposible filter to me. I have them in both of our vehicles. With the dealer charging $30 for "shop supplies" every time I have the car worked on I figure this is one way of getting back if they want to play little nickel and dime games. Change your own wiper blades too. Just simple things add up.

no problems here ,, ive used k&n filters for years on verious cars, never had an issue ,, you wont notice any power gains or noise with just a drop in filter, if you eliminate the air box then you will get loud..
If interested, I have one with about 15k use on it for sale. Have original box/stickers and everything. I'll wash and oil it for ya. $25 plus shipping.
