the steering angle sensor on the ml is part of the steering column, you cant change it seperately, you have to replace the entire column. it isnt hard, i have done a few, but you need the special tool to remove the ignition from the old column and install it to the new column.

but also before you replace it, i need to ask, is your alignment good? on the ML's I have seen several that just needed an alignment and this was the cause of the steering angle sensor fault? is your steering wheel cocked?

The answer to your question is a NO. The steering angle sensor is part of the steering column, which means that you get everything except the steering wheel, air bag, clock spring, combination switch, lock cylinder and covers.

The cost of the jacket tube with the sensor w/ESP is $350, part #163 460 05 16. Mercedes gives a labor time of 3.6 hrs for their technicians, so think wisely.

Mercedes Tech Bulletin 46.10/11 cautions their techs to be extremely careful when installing the column to the the swivel coupling, as improper installation could cause recurring fault codes. The coupling is directly below the angle sensor, which if struck could damage it and then you would have to purchase another one. In the bulletin they also instruct their techs not to remove the new angle sensor from the new column and put it on the old one.

I have no idea what your mechanical skills are, but I would really think hard about tackling this on your own.

Are you referring to the lateral acceleration sensor?

I have the same lights and recently had the problem diagnosed. The tech told me I needed to replace one front and one back ABS sensor.

I deleted the same video in the W211 section. Boggie313 posted twice in a row in the General Mercedes forum.
All 6 of his 6 total posts have been that video. Absolute insanity.
