I was wondering if my dealer could install the ML55 lamps or the xenons from the sport package on my 99 ML. I want the whole assembly with the crystalized headlight buckets and the autoleveling so I wont blind people. Can my dealer do this and for how much $$. Autoclass.net costs around 1 grand.
I have found that each dealership differs in regards to their ability to perform 'custom' work such as installing Xenon headlights.
Why don't you call your dealership directly to find out if they can handle the task and what they will charge?
I ordered my Xenon headlamp assemblies from PUMA, an authorized Hella dealer. They cost about $1,200 and it includes the special harness adapter that is required.
They took all of 10 minutes to install -- very easy. It took me a couple of days to adjust properly, but once done, they are great!
The auto-leveling feature is built into the assemblies, but you cannot activate since it would require the installation of sensors on each axle to measure velocity and vehicle angle. To my knowledge, no one has done this.

You installedthe Hellas and you say the motor for the leveling is installed. Why can't you install a rotary switch to adjust them on the fly. RRParts told me something about it. His price was too high for the OEM lights. Are the Hellas exactly the sames as the MB parts?
