ML Newbie questions - Benzworld.org

I just acquired an '01 with less than 25,000 miles. Pretty sweet shape. I'm thinking about some upgrades/add-ons and need some advice (I did a search and came up empty for the most part).

I found the details on the trip computer and that's pretty cool.

Has anyone added fog lights? Is it pretty much a plug and play or are there wiring issues?

Is there a good source for chrome running boards/tubes. I've seen these on some MLs around my area.

Lastly, the rear view mirror is the basic mirror and there is an electric one that dims automatically. Anyone know anything about making that change.

Greetings! Not trying to be short or smart...sounds like you shoulda bought a ML430 or ML500 because they come standard with the stuff you are wanting! ML have fog lights sockets in the headlights, but that option is supposable dealer-activated. Some models have spoilers, or bars with additional lights if that is what you are looking for?
We have running boards on our ML55. It come with it, so I keep them for dings protection on parking lot. On this truck boards are too close to door sills to have practical use as a step.
In another words I think they are not worth carrying their weight around.
I have self-dimming mirror on my wagon and didn't notice a difference. Maybe that is how it should be?

Fog lights - if you're wanting to use the intergated ones in the headlights, you just need to add the H3 bulbs, fuse, and have the dealer active them. Since you live in WA (they are legal), dealer can do the activation.

I have the stainless Manik Nerf bars, they stick out far enough to be useful as a side step and helps to protect against dings from cars. Doesn't help with trucks.
Check on Ebay.

On the mirror, do a search on this forum, I remember seeing a tread about upgrading and a source.
