I'm looking at a 2000 ML320 with 10000 miles, heated/power seats, moonroof, towing attachment, premium stereo and CD changer, privacy glass. It is starmarked and $36995. Seems below average retail and in great shape from what I can tell.
I'd appreciate anyone advice.
Thanks,
Based on what I have paid for my brand new one with 17 miles on it, and I bought my 2000 in october and in the bay area (#@#%$#% most expensive place on earth) I think $36995 is a o.k. price if it is brand new. I think you could go much lower. I think lower than 36000.

Stick to your guns. You could also could wait 9 more months and buy a 2001 brand new at 36995 for sure.

check out www.edmond.com. YOu will see that 36995 is about the invoice price for a brand new 2000 with the equipment you have listed.

if you have any more questions let me.

I will sell you mine it has only 3k on it for 36995 so I could by a ML 430, just kidding.

Which dealer is it by the way.
Good starting price but I'd offer at least $1,000 less. We bought our 2000 ML brand new with the same equipment and a desireable color combo - Brilliant Silver / Ash Leather - for $39,700 in March 2000. (This color combo is a $1,000 premium in 2001.) I sense that since the market has weakened over the course of the last year, one should be able to get a better price on a new 2001 than we got a year ago. To me, personally, saving about $2,700 on a major purchase such as a car is simply not enough savings to justify buying it used vs new. In terms of monthly payments it disappears in the roundings. If you want real savings wait a year and then look at 2000 models - or try the 98's and 99's now. Good luck - Lou
