Check Engine light and code P0170 and P0173

The CEL light came on last nite and I took it to Autozone for reading...Came back with code P0170 and P0173. Guy at Autozone says it could be

Faulty O2 sensors
Mass Airflow Filter
Misfire...

Vehicle drives perfectly without any jerks, idyling or knocking...have about 50 K miles.
Surprisingly while driving back the light goes off, I'm confused please provide your opinions and what should I do. Thanks

The codes are for the Mass Air Flow Sensor. It is located between the throttle body and the air filter case. You will see it has a plug in the side. Unplug and remove it by taking the hose clamps off each end. Once you have it out, clean it out with a good throttle body/intake cleaner. Allow it to dry and reinstall. If the light continues to come on, you will need to replace it. Cleaning has worked for some.

MAF from what I researched doesn't have error codes, but bad sensor will trigger several different malfunctions. My son had 10 errors and took it to a dealer, who for $100 tested the MAF bad.
New MAF sells for $129 at our sponsor, so I would rather spend hundred buck on new MAF even not knowing it is bad, than give it to stealer for 5-minute diagnosis.

I had same problem. Tried cleaning but cel reappeared. Replaces MAF and removed codes 0170 and 1073. Problem resolved.

Second that. Get the MAF insert from germanstar for $129 (1120940048X). You will need a security torx bit that can be purchased from Sears and probably the chain auto parts stores.

Try cleaning the sensor first with CRC Mass Airflow sensor cleaner. It will only cost you $6 and might solve your problem.
