Unhappy Problems with other Mercedes models

Has anyone heard of problems with the other Mercedes models?
Do you think they are as expensive to maintain, etc. as the ML?
It might have something to do with where the vehicles are manufactured.
I am in the market to buy now and don't know which route to take. I am leaning toward a Lexus or Toyota SUV or Honda Minivan. I don't know about the GL class since it is in it's infancy. Would like to stick with Mercedes but not so sure now since I have had problems this year. I like to keep a vehicle for at least 10 years since I have a growing family.

If you need a bigger car that will move more than four people on a daily basis, get the GL. The ML is good for moving more people every so often, but I woulnt want to have more than 4 daily. The Lexus will be cheaper to maintain in the long run, but is not as nice imo. Not a big fan of Toyotas, and minivans are the epitome of evil. You may want to check out the R class, too.

Judging from the look of R-class (remind me of funeral procession) and the lack of it on the road, it's not that popular.

I agree...I do not like the look of the R-Class. The few that I have seen look like the Dead-class.

Our 99 ML320 still runs perfect, while ML55 gives more joy in traffic but we all fell in love with my E320- wagon. It has factory 7 belts, that easily convert to 5+ storage. The rear seat vanish.
Much better ride, acceleration and fuel economy.
Than the all-German build wagon in 2 years gave me more headaches, than ML in 8, so you never know.
