Load noise from the engine - Benzworld.org

Someone in Benzworld help a brother out every morning when starting the my 2000 ML 320 The car make a loud huming noise from the engine is it the fan belt. After drive about 20 min no more huming.

If its at start up it could possibly be the air pump for the emissions system. they usually shut off after its been idling for a little bit.

Sounds like your ebox fan is going out. Do a search on "ebox". This is another common issue with our MLs. I had mine replaced.

No, not the E box fan, they usually squeal or chirp or do nothing. Air Pump sounds more like it and it could be normal depending on how loud it is.

Thanks its very very loud for about 20mins when i start driving and i turn the wheel its even louder.(so it sound like the air pump.)

If it's louder when you turn the wheel, then it sounds like the power steering pump. If your fluid is low, it could froth up a bit with air when you first start it and as the air gets out, it'll quieten down. You may want to check and see if your clamp located on the small return hose at the bottom right of your radiator is tight enough. This is a known issue that has been repaired by the dealer and it will fail again. There could be a slow leak there.

This is my problem exactly....Did you ever get this fixed, what was the issue.
