99 ML430 ETS/BAS-ESP Lights On

I did a front brake pad change yesterday - no problem and everything went well. While I was burning the new pads in when the ETS/BAS-ESP lights went on and the cruise control is out. Just topped off the brake fluid - lights still on and no cruise. Disconnected the battery - lights still on and no cruise. Can anyone tell me what I may have missed - trying to avoid the dealer.

It sounds like the switch on the brake pedal may have failed. It is an odd coincidence, but I have a feeling it is the switch. Very inexpensive part and easy to fix in a few minutes.

How many miles on the brake fluid?. Did you bleed any of the old fluid out?

Bought the car used and it currently has 92,000 miles. I have not changed the brake fluid. Nor did I bleed the system. I am thinking it may be the switch on the brake pedal - but very odd for it to fail at the same time as changing the pads.

was your issue ever resloved? i am having the same situation but did not replace the barkes.

My light is on too.....i disconnected the battery to change my air duct motor then when reconnected battery eps bas light came on.....any ideas how to take this off. it was perfect before i disconnected battery.

For battery disconnection this is normal. Reset values by starting the engine and turning the wheels from full lock left and full lock right. Lights will go out at that point.
