Hella 90mm Low Beam Modules in AMG/Sport Bumper

I just bought the ML and it had cracked fog lenses so I replaced those and the factory fogs were terrible. Once I upgraded to the 2002-up projector headlights and Valeo HID kit, the fogs weren't doing anything.

I'm kind of a lighting fanatic, so I ordered the Osram H7, which are rebased H9 to increase lumens on high beams from 1500 to 2100 Lm. I also replaced the factory fogs with Hella 90mm low beam projector modules. They were almost a direct replacement and rallylights.com even sells the factory plugs and hardware (see blury pic below).

What I started with Osram + Hella

Test fitment

Factory plug

Finished product

The improved lighting on both fog and high beam is amazing and all components were <$180 shipped.

Looks good.. How much modification do you have to do on the light housing?... or the kit does it all?..

I am thinking of getting a set.

thanks.

I actually had to modify the bulb seat a little to get the bulb to mount 90 degrees off vertical. The problem was clearance there for the plug and the shape of the bumper core. For some reason the driver's side only also required me to grind off one of the projector mounting tabs (inner lower left) - so the tolerances left and right are not the same from the factory. They are mounted like the factory ones - from the top single allen bolt. I made brackets shorter than the factory ones, but same idea. It took about 90 minutes for the whole install, including the engineering aspects to mount them.

Sorry, my originals were both cracked and some of the internals were rusted, so I just threw them out.
