Decision time,Time for new tires

It's decision time, 30K on ML500sports, Tires are worn down and time to replace before winter really start. 2 choices
Dunlop SP Sport 5000
Pirelli Scorpion Zero

Which one do you prefer and why?. I had Pirelli scoprion zero on previous Nissan SUV which handles well, but road noise started after 15K miles.

Thanks for all the input.

Hi,

In my opinion the Dunlopsare absolute pieces of S**T!!! Not only do they suckas far as snow performance, but their tread life is a joke.

The Pirelli Ice & Snow if you are looking for a true winter tire are awsome!!

If you are looking for a great all around tire, the Toyo Proxis S/T are excellent for everything but real snow & ice.

I would NEVER, EVER buy Dunlops again....my .5c

What size are your wheels? If you have the factory wheels, I'd check out the Michelin LTX series. Great in the snow, very quiet, and great wet/dry traction.

Another vote for Toyo Proxes S/T. Haven't used them on the Benz yet, but have used them on other vehicles and I really like them.

Since you live in NYC...

and normally, our roads are well plowed and salted, I'd vote for the Toyo Proxes S/T. I've had these since this summer and like how it performs in wet, dry...and soon I'll find out if it does well on snow. The proxes' tire tread design looks really nice and the sidewalls look really nice too!

RE: Decision time,Time for new tires

Hi.
Don’t look for funny names of tires makers are not to the names just big $$$$$
Look for best tires like Hankook or Falken.
Rating is very high & is high speed rated – all seasons.
Next week I am getting Hankook Ventus ST RH06 Tires - 255/55/18
The best & best price.

RE: Decision time,Time for new tires

lots of valueable inputs.. 2004ML500 is stock wheels,275/55/17.
I live in NYC, so winter tires are not 100% necessary. All year around and performances tires are needed to keep the suv in performance sharp..
Thanks.
