Rearview Mirror

I came home from an extended business trip to find that a branch from a neighbor's tree had falled on my beloved 98 ML 320's passenger side rearview mirror. The housing is fine, but the mirror itself was in pieces on the ground. I can see two small "motor" and an electrical connection. The mirror has some "clips" on the back. Is this something easy to fix myself, i.e., order the part and snap it on? Or is there more to it? Help please!

RE: Rearview Mirror

Easy install - it basically snaps on. There is something like 2 support springs and 4 mounting points; press it in place from the bottom first and then to the top.

RE: Rearview Mirror

One option is to take it to an auto glass shop and have them custom cut a mirror to fit and replace. Don't know which would be the less expensive route to go, just a thought.
