had my HB changed today - Benzworld.org

took my ML into the dealer to get the HB service done. got it changed, but the interesting thing was that the SA said that he checked my Cats for a courtesy check, whatever that is. [|)] and he said that eventhough both of my cats were in good condition, amazing for a 00 ML320. also, he said that he would change them eventhough they were in good condition. how can i resist some one offering to change a $3500 thing for free, cmon[:D] since the cats are in heavy backorder, figures, i get my cats changed in 3-4 weeks. guess the service assosciate will write that there are a few busted welds in the cats, and change it, and get free money from MB. since he'll say the part is defective, which it isnt, the SA gets money from MB for his labor, and i get new cats. life is good.....[:D]

Yeah, they are decent at the service department but can't say the same for their Sales people, nor some of their Parts people.

In your case, that's pretty good customer service.

How is your gas mileage with the current cats? See, I think there is more to this cat replacement than just cracks. I think they are melting down inside and causing engine performance problems that Mercedes don't want to talk about.
