Are these worth it? They sell for around $150... Do they look oem when installed? I am curious if anyone ahs bought them on ebay and actually put them on? How is the fitment?
A few here have done that mod. It looks pretty good AFAIK, but it is worth noting that caution is required with the install. At least two members inadvertently caused a short in the signal circuit and lost all indicators on one or the other side of their trucks. Neither ever reported back what the ultimate problem was so that knowledge is not shared here - unfortunately.
Yes, I feel this upgrade was worth the $150. I really like them for their looks and the added safety factor too. I purchased mine from ebay (Jerry was the seller). The fitment was tight, it took me a bit of effort to get them to close correctly.
Redeye is correct, caution should be used, make sure you understand the instructions before starting the upgrade. Take your time in doing it. Here's the link that explains it well with pictures: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1215120&posts=27
i ahd this problem with blow the circuit it. I ended blowing the fuse since i touched the positive wire and the negative together. I checked if the fuse was blow but it never came up as being blown. I checked every fuse and when i checked the indicator with a voltage tester it blinked as if it was working . I had no signal on my entire left side including on the cluster. I removed the battery terminals and the reattached them . I then checked the fuse and for some odd reason it was blown then . I replaced it at all is well everything worked. I am sorry i didn't post this earlier but i recently my wife and i had our second baby so been really busy but just becareful the mod. as easy as it is it's can be a pain the ass too since you can short something or even or burn the indicator unit. I hope this helps
