i'm just bored so i'm posting a bunch of crap.
anyway back to the subject:
Having seen the W164 I think MB has done a great job updating the ML. It looks more like a $50k + car. IF you've seen the the W221 S-Class it has the new nav screen placed up high. That has been because of recent regulations. The E-Class and the rest will probably do the same. Back to the ML, to me it has been behind MB standards ever since it has debuted. The SmartKey wasn't introduced until the W164 as well as the new Comand, steering wheel mounted controls, reliability, and a bunch of other stuff. Now that they're gonna have the new nav screen thing and other innovations being put in the other models the ML will once again be behind the rest of the brand.
P.S. i'm not tryin to ruin the image of the ML, i love it very much, but it seems that way to me.
RE: Who thinks the ML has been behind MB standards?
i know what you mean, but like with all the new stuff going with the w221 and the coming e-class, it will fall behind again. if you compare a 2004 e320 and ml350 which is behind?
off topic, that looks too aftermarket like one you'd get at best buy or something, except with Mercedes-Benz printed on it, looks like a magellan or something like that

The 98's and 99's, in general, are a joke...no thought at all...just rush it to market, "don't worry..they'll buy it..its a Mercedes"......MY 00 and on...a little better..MY 02 and on much better, but still nagging issues...fuel pumps, harmonic balancer's....l'll be curious to see the sales of the W164, l have yet to see one, on the road...[:0]

There are quite a few W164's on Calgary's roads by now, and both local dealers seem to have cleared the last W163's off their floors.

RE: Who thinks the ML has been behind MB standards?
Has anyone heard of how the Touaregs/Cayennes are holding up? They've been out for a couple of years now. I really liked the Touareg that I sat in at an auto show a couple of years ago...
RE: Who thinks the ML has been behind MB standards?
Actually, I like the old “classic MB standards like the window switches in the center console and the lack of gadgets. For that reason, I’d say the W163 was very much inline with MB standards. I am not very fond of the newer MB standards – some of them seem a bit “cheap".
