My firend has a ML 320 with about 77K ... she took it to the dealer and they replaced all four brakes and the front rotors totally for about $2K .... then she got it home and the car just cut off ..... she could put it in gear put the engine just revs .......I know that sounds like a transmission problem ...but she also had the MB dealer messin' with the driver side window ...it wouldn't go up.....
[xx(] ... now the dealer wants like $4K or $5K for the tranny ....
Somebody got some advice.
The Transmission's electronic control module is located just below the window switches in the center console. I would bet that they did something to the conncetions to that module while trouble shooting the window switches.

She needs to get the SM at the dealer to get MBUSA to offer some assisance. These trannys are popping so fast all over the world that it becoming crystal clear that there are many bad ones installed. I smell a class action suit brewing over this. I did just that and was able to get MB to pay the parts(tranny, torque converter, and various gaskets seals and fluid) and I payed the labor. About $700 dollars out of pocket was all the tranny cost me at a dealer. I am not a heavy hitter, I don't own $500,000 worth of eurocars that I would be able to use as influence. In fact the dealer I had purchased and maintained 3 Benzes with was so hard to talk to about this I took it to the dealer on the other side of town and they got me the help from MBUSA. They are my new dealer. The other lost me forever.
You'll never believe it. .... I talked to my friend this morning and she said that the dealer did say it was the transmission but told her they would do it for free .... that sounds awfully fishy .... I think that they knocked out the connector for the transmission.
