99 ML320, what color is the grey bumper?

I have a small section where the paint is coming off the bumper. I can repair it with a little paint but I don't know the color of the bumper. Does anyone know the code of the bumper (I know the code for the body of the car).

Why don't you spend a couple hundred more and get them painted same color as the body? And do the mirrors while you're at it.[;)]

I believe it is called Alto Grey. Don't know the code but the dealer should know.

Because of the resale value of the ML. I won't get a penny back when I sell the SUV.

It's a 1999! IMHO, it would be no different painting your bumper the same color as the rest of you car as it would to add mods like the LED mirrors, tailgate filler panel or the 02 tail lights or new headlights.

I think redeye is right on! I'd paint the bumpers the same color!

When I had the grey bumpers I purchased some touch up paint for it. Part number: A 000 986 08 50 7700, this includes the basecoat paint plus a bottle of clear lacquer, satin gloss. If you just want the basecoat, that part number is A 000 986 08 50.

Well, at 7 MY’s old, I think most of your resale value is already gone. Besides, if you get a good paintjob on the bumpers, the dealer would not be able to tell. Their paint thickness meters only work on steel, and only the most astute MBZ dealer would realize that a 98/99 bumper should be gray instead of body colored. Remember, they aren’t fanatics like we are!
