Admit if you did not know about this feature...
When you start your ML, do you turn the key and wait for it to start?
Or do you let the ML do the work?
Turn the key and immediately release it. The starter stays engaged until the engine starts.
All by itself.
I never realized this until it was pointed out to me in my SL. I tried it in my ML and "whatta ya know!"
The only problem...now when I get in any car, I turn the key and let go.

Well, if you'd just spent some time with the manual, maybe you'd have been
enjoying this feature. It's actually pretty neat.

Our dealer showed us that in 97 when we got our first ML. I have to tell anybody who drives it to just let the truck handle it. They are a bit baffled.

It's really a nice feature.
My wife's SC430 doesn't have it. Whenever I drive it, I often have to start it twice because I keep forgetting about holding the key.

I admit I didn't know it, but in my defense, I bought it used 2 weeks ago and it has only been driven about 150 miles. Plus I have not finished the owners manual yet.
I will try it tonight.
Thanks for the tip.

funny thing is i discovered this nifty feature on the ML only a few months ago, and after a week of doing this my ML's battery died! i turned the key and let go to wait for it to start, it clicked, and died. (what a scare! i thought that immediately releasing the key might've damaged something! hahaha)

Nah, it's a Mercedes. It has to be Startronic. My wife's Prius has the same feature, but her crappy Scion (Toyota) loaner didn't, oddly enough.
