Can't get my EPC to install?. Keeps coming up with "can't recogize OS"? Any tricks?
Might be too old I guess (98,NT,2000 only).
It is EPC Compact however!

probably the EPC compact does not support windows XP, the EPC complete version does, but you need to hook it up with a hub if you are not connected to a network otherwise it wont work.

RE: EPC install on Windows XP
Best thing you can do is let your XP act as an other OS (NT or Win 2000, just what you want.
Go to your COMPUTER and then go to the CD player where you put your EPC cd. Right click and choose EXPLORER
Then search for you EXE file.
Right click on this one and there you can see a function where you can change your OS (don't remember the name of this function)
At that moment XP reacts as the OS of your choise

RE: EPC install on Windows XP
I was getting all excited. I saw EPC and a Mercedes logo, I thought there was a Mercedes Embedded PC that could run Windows and was going to suggest that Linux would be a better solution for a car PC. [:D]

RE: EPC install on Windows XP
MB sells them directly ... They get updated from HQ every few months ...... Each Sales office orders them from HQ!
The cost 39 Euros each.
There is also a complete EPC (for all models) that requires Networking installed (TCPIP), and is available on 2 DVD's. Probably much more money!.
.... as I said earlier wait, and check the ttaleric site!

RE: EPC install on Windows XP
Just a little update on this,
The EPC "Compact" is designed for "Win98/ME/NT/2000" (Although you can trick it , as seen above)
The EPC "Compact Plus" also installs on XP and has the latest Diagram's
EPC = Electronic Parts Catalog
