Multi-function Steering wheel

Do you know if it is possible to replace the standard steering wheel with a multi command (radio, volume, phone, cruise control) one?

There are no connections to the satellite controls for the radio, etc on the ML, therefore this is not possible. I'm not sure why you would need one for the cruise control given that the stalk is so close by anyway! [:)]

Peter, Chris in Nürnberg has installed it. Brabus offers it too, but expensive. Not worth the trouble as far as I am concerned... Takes a w203 steering wheel and a W210 COMAND with CAN. The instrument cluster might have to be flashed or updated as well.

RE: Multi-function Steering wheel

Too bad I got a 163... Command now!

Good to know that it isn't impossible though! I'll ask chris about details

Which version is the right one?

1. CAN Command with NOCAN umbau, that still has CAN functionality, combined with the multifunction steering wheel

2. CAN Command (No Umbau), with CAN mod support update to the ML?

That's the one, connecting the steering wheel buttons and instrument cluster through the interior CAN via pins 07 (shield), 08 (CAN LO) and 09 (CAN HI) on the C2 connector. The engine CAN on the W210 COMAND is not needed, pins 16 to 18. [:D]
