this site scares the hell out of me

the car im about to purchase is a 2000 ml55 w/73k miles from a "small" dealership which specializes luxury cars

they are offering a 3 year unlimited mile "warranty" for an extra 2k

I just want a nice fast comfortable ride that wont be in and out of the shop. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

or should I just "settle" for a lexus suv?

you should definiltey buy the warranty. many components start failing around 75-80k miles. i would change all the fluids and filters just for safety measure. also make sure the truck has a clean service history. once you get it, you should learn to do diy maintenance instead of going to the dealer and youll save a load of money. as 'roadsession' would reccomnend, the search button can be your best friend. [8D]

163- thankx, but now I am thinking twice, I have been doing some research and I know its not brand new, but I do not want a suv that will break down when I have my family with me, that is actually my biggest concern is.

Hey, I've had my 99 ML430 for almost 3 years, and this is the first time it's ever let me down. I called MB and they said they would tow it for free to the nearest MB dealer, but I have towing through AAA and had it towed to my home, ordered the part (Fuel Pump) and had the vehicle running in less than 3 hours after picking up the part.

Good luck on your search for an SUV for your family. You can't get a safer vehicle than a ML.

[:)]thankx guys, I will use the search button religiously. I think I will get the ml, im a very diy guy, I just want a truck that I dont need to take appart every weekend. Once in a while is good for exercise.
