RE: help on removing the wood trim around the radio and ac

Hi

Just bought an '01 ML55, and the trim around the center vents was already cracked and peeling off. I just pulled it off, but it's left some residue. As soon as I get my wood kit in, I'll do the job properly, cleaning it up, that is, and will let you know.

BTW, here's the installation instruction page from which I got my kit
http://www.wooddashfactory.com/pages/about/instructions.html

In the meantime, if you get any other info, please let me know.

First remove the radio/MCS. After that, the wood panel can be pulled straight out from the dash. It is held in place by four very strong trim clips, so it will require some effort. I had luck prying around the edges with a plastic trim tool to loosen the grip from a couple of the clips first.
