C-ROD,

Thanks for the feedback. I looked at your profile and only see a black ML430 with Kumho 285/60/18's that look nice Any pictures of the Toyo Proxes ST's - 285/60/18's? Why did you go with 60's and not the recommeded 50's?

Any feed back on the Perelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrical's - they look like a great tire.

Thanks,

Fastman (I like that - too funny!)
Again..... Go with the Michelin X-Terrain.... Good all around performance, and it is quit on the high way.
Those Perelli Scorpian Zero perform fairly well in the snow but noisy as hell on the high way.

RE: AMG 18" All-Season Tires

Bulldog,

Thanks. I have narrowed it down to the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico's which are newer and better than the noisey Pirelli Scorpion Zero's or the Michelin X-Terrains. What size works for the X-Terrains on the 18" AMG wheels. They do not come in 185/50/18's?

Does anyone have the Asimmetrio's - if so I would love to here your feedback regarding noise/etc...

Thanks,

FASTMAN

Hey "Fastman"......Firstly.....l went with the 60 series instead of the 50 series, because l was worried that the 50's would be too hard a ride...l had heard that the ML 55 rode like a tank..and my "lovely" would have killed me, if the ride was too harsh...hence l went with the 60's...nice ride...As for the pic, l will post one tonight..l am currently at work, and can't get to my pictures.... Thanks C-Rod - look forwad to the Pics. Overall did your tires change the odometer due to the overall change in diameter of the tires.

Thanks,

FASTMAN

l will take some more current pics on my new ride, but l have one on my previous ML....As for the speedo question, l have not noticed any difference...Heck, when you are going 200 KM an hour, what's an extra kilometre or two....[;)]

18" tires in winter (pics incl)

Doug,
I live in boston and get 1/2 the snow you do in NH.
I would NOT put Toyo Proxes S/T for year round use.
Remember, it's not just about moving - it's also about STOPPING - and the Toyo is a great tire for those that live in Maryland on down.

The best 18" Tires for year round use that I had were the Michelin XPC 4x4 (what came standard on the Range Rovers). Here's a picture of them (blizzard of 2005) before I switched to 17" rims and Michelin Cross Terrains (which are great too)

And me and another ML - the only 2 vehicles on the road that evening - (there were over a dozen spinouts littered across the street)
