RE: Any recommendation for a wireless tire pressure monitoring system? TIA!

Hey Post Whore! This thing just saved my butt when I ran over a nail and had a slow leak - if it hadn't beeped I probably would be shopping for a new tire:

I also have a tire plug kit that I think I got from Griot's Garage, but I can't find it anymore.

Hi Jeff! Thanks for the quick reply. The other system I was looking into is from PRESSUREPRO System -- Light Truck Edition but at $165 for the unit + $50 sensors (X4) it costs a bit too much. Have you heard of this product company before???

In comparison, the SmarTire 2G 4wheel standard system costs only $229 complete.

Cute system. On the plus side the sensors are mounted on the valve stems so they're easy to install. On the down side they can also easily be stolen. Since that's the case I'd recommend you get them (where in NJ do you live again?). I do like the customizable display for trailer support, but I don't think it's worth the extra expense over the StarTire system.

I have the 2nd generation SmarTire and the enhanced display. I've got one set of sensors on my winter and one on my summer tires but the display remains the same. I like that they monitor both pressure and temperature and use both to calculate the actual amount of air in the tire (so you don't get a false low reading when the tire is just cold, for example). The only issue I've had with them is a few false alarms, but they're easy to ignore compared to the expense of missing a real alert.
