just a few quick questions...

hey guys watsupppp...i have a '99 ml320 and i jus wanted to know how i can change my odometer to km instead of miles because i heard if you do that and then press mode on the overhead console until it tells you how many miles you can drive until you run out of gas....it'll tell you instead of just saying "FUEL" if you know what im talkin about plz let me know..

I'm also very confused about xenon headlights....now are these the ones i see on the new maximas...whenever i'm driving on the highway and i see a maxima or an acura tl or a beemer..and it hits a bump i see the headlights go from like white to purplish and stuff...they look reeli hot r those xenons? if so what r bi xenons...and do all the new ML's come with it? or is it that they just come with the new headlights but not the actual xenon bulbs but just a regular bulb....if someone can answer those questions...ill be less confused about all of this. thank youu....

and oh yea my paintjob is like 6 years old now...its a '99...so like i have a lotttttttt of swirl marks and what not...i hate the paint it's black so you knnnow how it gets..should i get a neww paintjob or should i get it detailed?

IIRC, this feature is only available on the overhead trip computer

it is NOT IN THE odometer/instrument gauge cluster.

Definately try detail before paint job. Professional detail jobs can also be pricey but you probably get what you pay for.

Have you tried changing your trip meter to km?

RE: just a few quick questions...

Press the MODE button on the TC until you see USA, then press RESET to change it to a European country. Of course you will now get km/liter and such, so it might be more confusing thant just refueling when the orange light comes on. The newer version of the TC alternates is display for DTE and FUEL, even when set to USA. There was a guy on Ebay selling the newer TC version for less than $100. He also hangs out on alt.auto.mercedes as well.

Or, if you want to DIY, go to Griots Garage and buy the whole kit with the polisher, compound, clay, wax, etc. and have some fun.

RE: just a few quick questions...

well it comes on a little less than 1/4 tank, so if you measure out how many miles you get for a full tank of gas divide by 2 and thats about how many you will get, I think its set at 60 but that stuff is not to scale, depends on your MPG

I agree if you to do it yourself. I have used Griot's for over 2 years and have been really happy with it. You can save some money if you buy the Porter cable buffer elsewhere though.
