decides to hardcore offroad

I was in a theater parking lot and saw a pile of gravel, decided to drive up it on one wheel because i'm actually really hardcore like that

I drove as much as I could before I couldnt flex anymore got out and looked, and it was suprisingly far, then I drove farther and I noticed my truck tipping from side to side (my clue to stop [:)]) but just wondering is there any offroading technology a 99 ML430 has that prevents it from tipping on that kind of terrain?

Sounds pretty fun .. LOL

If you are talking about some sort of technology that will tell or help prevent you from rolling over, it doesnt exist. But there is a safety feature if you do roll over the fuel cuts off ... maybe that will help you sleep. LOL

RE: decides to hardcore offroad

That is the number one limitation that we have to deal with off-road.

We only have a small amount of wheel articulation compared to other vehicles.

Traction is awesome, though.

Even with a wheel in the sky.

I am a bit concerened about this reckless behavior, Blackie.

What if you became stuck on that pile of gravel....so far from the snack bar?

Next time, get the Extra large popcorn (it is the Best Value, afterall) and fill your center console.

This will give you an emergency supply. That along with a laptop and a couple of DVDs make up an essential survival kit for that kind of adventure.

RE: decides to hardcore offroad

hah you know, I was about 70 yards away from the ticket stand, it was a thursday at about 4pm no one was in the parking lot they were prolly like what the hell is this kid doing, if I rolled over I would probably kill myself

ABC Special Report!

"a Mercedes SUV rolled over in the parking lot of a local movie theater, witnesses say a teenager drove up this embankment of a 4ft tall pile of construction gravel in a 5sq ft circle and the gravity on 3 wheels was to much for this SUV, it proceded to roll over, the teenager walked over to a small 5 inch stream 5 feet away and drowned himself, we will not release the teenagers name until his family has been contacted"

wow

on another note I was planning on buying a 04 Grand Cherokee Limited, raising it 2 inches, putting some good mud tires on it, and a brush guard so I could offroad the hell out of it since i'm in one of the best offroading areas in the US (oregon), that plan flopped and I got a mercedes [|)]

Just go off roading that’s what it’s made for, I was the same way you where but I went camping with my friends and we had to cross a river and they where all about to pile up into this one kid's raised truck and I was like screw it. Well I crossed the river with ease not very deep. It’s funny when a kid in a Chevy pick up has to ask you “do you think my car will make it.

RE: decides to hardcore offroad

Dude, our vehicles are extremely good off-road. I concur, you can't compare it against a Jeep or Land Rover, but right there if we are comparing oem stuff.
Check Wolfang's page, you see lots of info, and then click on the "Death Valley Challenge", you'll see GreenM3 and I competing against other trucks, and we were stock, except for tires, and HD Bilsteins shox in the front of my truck, I don't remember if Dave had any suspension upgrades back then.
You can join us in July at the Nevada Trophy in Reno, not too far from Oregon.
My best memory so far is when I had two guys driving a 4x4 Ford Bronco II jumping in my car for a hill climb to a mine in the middle of the desert. My truck got kind of stuck going up, so they shaked their heads and started opening the doors, when I switched to low range and started crawling over the rocks and boulder and kicking up lots of dirt. They looked at me like saying "I never thought a MB could do that, and if it was mine I won't me getting dirt on it" Awesome!![8D]
BTW, when you go off-roading never forget to carry a "hammer" in your pocket, it could save the day>[:p]
