Alright.. I've given up on the NAV antenna on my ML. I have a 2000 ML430 and thinking of installing this Alpine GPS antenna. Heard great things about it on this forum. Can someone tell me all the parts I need to get and instructions on a DIY.

thanks

The only part you need is noted in the original post. The antenna cable is then routed to the back of the MCS and plugs right in!

Thanks UncAl

I'm ordering one today.. Another question. How did you get the antenna on the passenger side? Did you have to take apart the dash to put the antenna there?

Take the dash apart? Me? Are you kidding? Hail No! [:0][:p][;)] I'm the most mechanically-challenged guy here!

Just push the wire into the space between the A-pillar and the top of the dash! I think I used a dull screwdriver blade or a popsicle stick or something! Also, there's space to push the wire in down the side of the dash and the door frame. Then, just route the wire underneath to the MCS.

The antenna will come with a self-adhesive patch that you stick on the dash, and the antenna sits on that. There will also be a little black rubber wire-guide thingie, and its self-adhesive too.

Its easy - trust me! [;)]

RE: ALPINE GPS ANTENNA - PART NUMBER AND SOURCE

If I have a MY 2001 ML and want to add a DVD Nav Module, would the addition of one of these antennas eliminate the need for me to get an antenna splitter and the other "short antenna cables" ? Or is doing that much easier than having yet another antenna sitting there on my dash? Please let me know! Also, I see someone here is the selling the DVD module for $700. has anyone seen it cheaper at all? Thanks.
