RE: How do I reset the service indicator?

You could pay somebody on eBay that outlines it for $10 or better yet buy a new manual for your ML. They sell those all day long on eBay very cheap. This is not one of those procedures people like to outline online since there are people that steal this info from the thread and charge (see eBay) for something that is clearly in the manual.

RE: Much Thanks!

What year is your ML? I have 2 set of complete (5 to 6 books and booklets) manuals for ML 2002 and ML 2000. They work for any ML modes for the above model years. $25.00 each plus $4.00 USPS Priority Shipping. LVDell is right, you need to have one of these manuals for a petty to major info about your truck.

Reset survice

Move start switch to position "2".

Within the first 4 seconds after moving the start switch to position 2, press the reset button for the trip counter twice within one second. The display for the service request is activated for about 10 seconds.

Within these 10 seconds, move the start switch into position "0". The service request continues to be displayed.

Press the reset button for trip counter and keep it pressed.

Move the start switch into position "2".

Continue to hold the reset button for the trip counter pressed until the signal sounds and the new start distance appears in the display (it takes about 10 seconds).

Fabulously lucid description of the reset service indicator process joro_cool!

Shame it came almost FIVE years too late!

he waits 8 months between registering and making his first and only post, which is an excellent and valuable post, and you razz him for posting a little late.

I hope he posts again.

What I really want to know is how did he find a FIVE YEAR OLD post? Has he been looking for it for since joining 8 months ago? That is some serious persistence.
