Hey guys, I am in the process of painting my brake calipers on the ML and i took a look at the jack, however it does not seem stable to me at all, where it the jackpoint? I have the side step bars so it's hard to find the point, but I've had bad luck with the floorjacks that MB has given me, dropped my C320 because the jack folded up on the bottom. What do you guys suggest? Are these jack's strong or will this come back to haunt me? Thanks!
The Jack is strong enough. If you look under the truck you will see the jack locations just ahead of the rear wheel and just behind the front wheel.
It is always a good idea to provide additional support after the vehicle has been lifted. Either use jack stands, logs, cinder blocks etc. just be careful where you place them to avoid damage.

The jack is a piece of $$$. My 430 has dropped on me and it was correctly installed and all, it just folded under my truck. I went to Pep Boys, bought $40 hydraulic jack and now I have piece of mind and can do work around my truck.
Just my 2 cents. Good luck !!!
The jack is okay if on a solid level surface. You really have to make sure the footing is very square or completely on the ground. Make sure the jack stays vertical or bring it down and start over. Wheel chocks are recommended to keep vehicle from moving. If you have side step bars, the jack points are on there.
After you get the floor jack (follwed by GOOD jack stands - like in the picture above) - you'll want to consider getting an air compressor. If you do anything serious on a car yourself, you just gotta have these two items.
