I seem to be encountering some sluggish problems and not sure where to turn to for help. Let me start off by stating the obvious, I am not mechanically inclined-at all!
Anyway, during routine services, I’ve complained that the gas pedal needs to “really be depressed in order to go the vehicle moving. One dealer lubed the accelerator cable and another replaced all together. The problem has not disappeared. I am starting to wonder if the problem is fuel delivery, all along. My wife mainly drive’s this vehicle, but just the other day I drove it and started with a full tank of gas. I drove 18 miles and consumed about 1/8 of the tank. I thought that was kind of strange, but being that the vehicle is heavy and full time 4 wheel drive I paid no mine to it. All along, the gas pedal issues remain. During the same drive, I had to go over a 5% grade, as I approached the grade I was going about 65mph-naturally the vehicle start to slow down, I applied more pressure to the gas pedal and the vehicle did increase speed. As I continued to climb, once again, the vehicle slowed- as I went to apply additional pressure, I noticed my foot was already all the way down to the floor board. I left it there, until I came to the top of the hill. Only when the vehicle started down the hill, was it that the vehicle finally responded that it was being floored.
Has anyone had this experience? My warranty is now up and I would hate to go to the dealer with an open-ended problem. I might as well sign a blank check. I mush rather him/her go directly to the problem. Maybe, it something as simple as the fuel filter…
Thanks for the quick response. Like I said in my original post, I am not mechanically inclined, but I do remember the dealer mentioning a "mass flow sensor." I also remember him stating these are about $800.00 bucks. Do you think, this would be the cause of erratic fuel usage and binding gas pedal?

A binding gas pedal is something else maybe (binding throttle cable). A bad MAFS can cause bad gas milage and loss of power. You can buy it and install it your self.... very easy.. I know someone has the instructions to install it here. Is the check engine light on?? If it is I would get the engine codes read.

Check engine light has never came on. From some of the replies, indicating that the MAFS could cause bad gas mileage and loss of power-I'm making an appointment with the dealer to have it checked out. I'll post and progress.
