Please help: Long time Audi/BMW owner about to buy ML320

I have found a 2000 ML320 that I am about to buy. Are there any FAQs on these vehicles? Things to have checked, things to look out for? I am planning a pre-purchase inspection tomorrow at my regular BMW mechanic (they service all euro cars), so I am hoping to find some info before.

This vehicle does not have a NAV system, but if I have read correctly one can be added (DVD system no less). Is this correct? Is it easy for a DIY-er to do?

Anybody have thoughts on what would be a fair price for such a vehicle with 75k miles?

Any thoughts on expected lifetime? I am used to being able to drive my cars past 200k miles. I assume MB is no different, but would like to verify this.

What is a decent price? The seller is asking $21k, but that seems a little high based on some NADA, KBB, etc research.

Sorry for such a newbie post, but we've all been there at some point. Thanks in advance for any help here!

RE: Please help: Long time Audi/BMW owner about to buy ML320

Hi.
I own and have owned both BMW's and MB's. Expect about the same level of reliability. MB's and BMW's and Audi's will never be 'problem free' like Toyota's/Nissans/Hondas. But then again, I wouldn't buy Japanese cars - I would trade some quirks for European style, handling, and that certain 'magic' that combines steering, chassis, handling. It's the sum of the parts, not the individual components that make MB's and BMW's so magical.
