Update on blown ballast, and now a new problem with the roof antenna! LoL(pics)

Hey folks!

Geez, i miss posting on these forums! I practically grew up with you guys! Anywho, I bid on those 2 xenon ballasts on e-bay and I won!! They came in and I replaced the blown one and they work like a charm! I also plopped in a pair of 8000K Xenon bulbs. What a difference in color! A very very very slight decrease in light output, but my mother thinks it's brighter because she was driving with one headlight for a while. Here's a pic of the new bulbs.

Also...a new problem has risen! I took the ML to New Jersey last weekend. I get home and the GPS antenna is gone!! It was loose and wiggly before and it must have flown off on the highway! LoL!!! A few people said Clair parts has good prices on new antennas, any other reccommendation? Does clair have a website?? Thanks!!

IIRC, the antenna is easily found on eBay. But if in a real hurry I think you can buy from Clair parts.

Also, you are best off giving Clair a call.

Glad you won the ballasts :-)
I didn't know you can change the bulbs on xenon projectors. I thought it was an integral assembly.

As roadsession mentioned, call Clairparts. I think the antenna runs around $140, even w/ the discounts :-P

Thanks guys! You can change the bulb, it's very easy. The bulb is a D2S bulb. But mostly all aftermarket xenon bulbs are machined so they fit in D2R (reflector type) and D2S (projector type) fixtures. Fits like a glove, just like the OEM bulb.

Ken, I called claiparts, there Mercedes-Benz division of parts moved to Westood! boooo! I'll try calling them.

Nimit, do you have any mods you've done to your ML? I'm in Watertown almost every other day, tonight I will be too. I've seen a few ML's around. One with a few mods. Is that yours?

hey Chris, you never got back to me about selling the bumper. you sell it?

They're on Rte 1. Used to be on the W. Roxbury side of Rte 1. Now they're on the Westwood side.

If you haven't ever been there, you should go visit the dealership. Very cool. Wifi, snack area, plasma TV, golf putting area. And they give you C loaners.

I've got most of the pics for a writeup on the dealership, but I need a few of the service area which I should be able to finish up later this month...
