Thats the first generation Analog Cellphone unit! It is not even the old TIMEPORT ... part of the 98-99 optional package

l had that in my 1999 ML 430, before l switched it out for the MCS and Navigation DVD...

Can you spot what's wrong with this interior?

I'll start:

A) It's a 99 ML with a 2000+ speedo gauge cluster (there's even the little gear selection indicator for touch shift)

But the airbag cover is from a 1998 (no chrome star) and No ESP so I think it's a 98 with new gauge cluster

I'm not sure about the guages being 2000 or not, but i think the "carbon" dash trim looks is alot better than the wood....

now you got me curious.... i dont see how you could dial a number with the limited number of buttons on the panel.... care to explain how it works?

You dial with the actual phone unit in the armrest. The buttons on the dash is only for preset calls and SEND END. And the up/down button for scrolling down the phonebook. In car cell phone is not that advanced back then. It's a pretty expensive option too.
