I doubt I will be allowed to order with FMC .com Again!!

OKay here's the story.... Yesterday I though it would be real nice to order a chrome handle strip from For My Mercedes .com. I placed the order but...

Received: 09/21/2004 at 17:03PM PDT

Hello Paul,

Suppier in Germany sent me the wrong trunk handle covers. So there will be a delay in filling your order. Let me know if you can wait 2-3 weeks.

I have heard only good things about your company from the benz-world forums. However a "temporary out of stock" notice would have been more
professional before I placed the order. In any case I am not in a hurry, but would expect some accommodation in regard to a reduction in price or free overnight shipping when you have stock.

All I could do was laugh, however I think as the CUSTOMER it would have been more professional to just say NO and have me lump it. Some busineses don't get it or don't care. I don't think Jerry wants my business.

You can just order this item from the dealer. It's not expensive at all. probably around the same price anyway. Just inquire with your local dealer parts dept. Here's the pub

I'm not sure, but didn't that mean he was sorry?

Just doesn't seem to mean anything to anyone anymore, people expect you to bend over and kiss their **s these days. People have quit being understanding or nice, and if you make a mistake they expect everything in return. Threating to cancel your order if he dosn't give you a break in the price, or free shipping wasn't the right way to handle the situation.

Just my 2 cents.

The point is that my credit card was processed... then I am informed that there is no stock (who cares why). I never should have been able to place an order for a product that was unavailable. I now have to monitor my credit card statement to be sure I was not charged. It's just bad business, I tried to give the guy a chance (like I said he could have just said "I can't give you a discount, ), but now I'm just pissed-off. Is it good business to do that?

I accept that he is "sorry", but I was charged full price, I was just trying to offset the unnecessary need to wait vs. the hassle of re-ordering with another merchant. Is extending free shipping on a mistake, which is not my fault such a HUGE LOSS. Since he “CANCELED� my order and I am writing this, I think it speaks volumes about this merchant. It is a shame, as I have read some good things about them from other members. Basically a Benzworld endorsed merchant has refused me service, because I was trying to work with them over their error. All he had to say was "no", then I could make a better decision as the customer. Why pay for advertising if you are just going to run a customer off. Stupidity in my mind!

Should be cheap enough there.

If not, I have one I never installed if you're interested. Didn't like the chrome on silver look :-P

Those guys blow!!! I tried to inquire about an OEM hitch and OEM grille guard. They replied back to me and had me send them pictures of what i was talking about. Then they tell they can get but fail to email/reply to me again. I hope those clowns are reading this....

VERY INTERESTING, Same thing happened when I placed my order with .com. I waited two weeks and when order did not arrive, I dropped Jerry a line and he "THEN" informed me that the ML430 Sale Panel Tweeters were on back order. I cancelled my order and received a credit on my Credit Card. He contacteded me about a month and a half later asking me that if I was still interested in the sale panels. YOU KNOW THE ANSWER!!!![:(!]
