a little off the ml subject. i know most everyone has seen the chrysler 300,it seems to be one of the hottest sedans out now. i know, i know, styling is subjective, but imho, the car looks like a limo made in china. most people i talk with say it reminds them of a rolls royce, but i think its just a magnum(again a car with weird styling),but im ranting now. what about this marriage between these 2 companies ?wasnt it just a matter of time that chrylser would rub off on mercedes and not the other way around ? would do you guys think ? im looking at daimler chyrlser on my ml sticker on the door, and im totally repulsed!
i agree, styling of chrysler 300 does nothing for me.
with respect to being 'repulsed' by daimler chrysler markings on your ML, nothing is really as pure as we would like to believe. mercedes automobiles included.
there are plenty of G owners who think the ML is evidence of decline of MB (before chrysler merger). 'ml is not a "real" mercedes', etc. probably are some ML owners who would say the same thing about the C class.
don't let other products made by your favorite manufacturor (or a related company) interfere with your enjoyment of a vehicle you like. at the end of the day, it is just a car - and the best car in the world is only the best according to the benchmarks of the beholder.

Your "claim" is hardly supported by facts, actually quite to the contrary, the car you illustrate your "point" with shows that M-B does rub off on Chrysler and not the other way around.
Under it's skin, the 300 is the previous E-Class chassis.
Another example of the transfer of technology? The Cross Fire is (overpriced and) the previous SLK chassis.
There is a standing agreement that the new M-B technology will make it's way to Chrysler product only after a mandated time delay to avoid sales cannibalization, but eventually, the good stuff will make it, albeit later, onto Chrysler branded products, no reason to feel repulsed, M-B started to address the "populous" market in the mid 90s, pre merger!
