I have a 2002 ML320 that I bought new. When purchased I understood that service was included for the first 50,000 miles. I now have 48,500 miles and called to get my last service because I will be on an extended trip for the next week. My SA tell me that I was only allowed 4 free services and my next one will be at my expense. Did I misunderstand my salesman when I made my purchase? I cannot locate anything in writing about this. The dealer will continue to repair any defects covered by the warranty, just not do a service unless I agree to pay for it.
Many thanks,
Bob Alvis
That's not true.
If you time it right, you can get a fifth one free as well. As we speak, my '00 ML320 is in the dealership getting the fifth free service now.
I got each of my free services at about 10,000 mile intervals as I was told to do. I was specifically told today that I was to receive only 4 services. The word free really should have been described as "included in the purchase price" anyway!.
Thanks, I will persue further.
Bob
Well, I appealed it to the Sales Manager at my dealership and he checked it out with the Service Manager. They tell me that the service at 40,000 will last until 50,000 miles and no more free services are available. Sure seems different than when I bought it!
Guess I am a liability now.
