Hi Guys,
About 5 months ago when I took my 2002 ML500 for the 20k mile "B" Service, the SA told me that they recommend replacing all 4 rotors and pads. He said the pads were down to 3 mm and the rotors were down to 2 mm. Per the SA - a very dangerous situation. The Brake Pad Sensor Light had not come on.
Since I have a 18 mth son and was expecting another baby in a couple months I authorized all 4 rotors an pad replacemet. The cost was $1350.00 !! Since this is my first MBZ product I thought "well a Mercedes is pretty expensive to maintain". Now looking at other posts it seems I got royally screwed [!] !! The stealership ripped me off - I am not a DIY guy but still a Independent Shop would have taken around $500.00 or so. Well I learnt my lesson the hard way - henceforth will only take it to the dealer for warranty work.
My dealer is Autobahn Motors in Belmont, CA. What are other dealers charging for this kind of service ?
Regards,
Rahul
