| wheel balancing!

Last week I submitted a post concerning the slight "shake" which I was noticing while driving at "autobahn speeds" +90 mph. Today I took the ML to the local tire shop, and had them check the wheels and tires.
Firstly, I realised that the tires had not been inspected for almost two years. Of course, they found a nail in my front right tire. (about one inch long and in one of the grooves) Luckily it sealed itself up almost completely, and I noticed only minimal loss of pressure.
Second, they had to rebalance all four tires, about 25 grams each. They use the small weights which stick on the inside of the rims.
Thirdly, they rotated the tires front and back. Since they found no uneven wear, they assumed that everything is alright with the shock absorbers, my other concern.
After about 45 minutes and 50 bucs later, I drove on the highway to test. Remarkably, the annoying shaking is now gone, and the ML feels like she used to, like a locamotive. Heavy and very steady, even at high speeds. It any of you notice any of these minor symtoms, have them first look at the tires, preferably not at the dealer, as they will undoubtedly charge much more!
