That likely explains why your original battery lasted so long - it was made in Germany :-) That's not to say US made batteries are cr*p, just the ones fitted to ML's !
In any event glad you're mobile again and that everything went smoothly for you.
Hey Timf,
I am quite certain that you are an enthusiast. I am just not so sure as to why you bother with this forum?
I mean it would seem that you really have a strong dislike for MB/MLs?
I guess that you have a number of friends on this forum, and you have been a member for some time.
It is just getting a little tired for me, to just about always read your negative posts.
I think that most people are aware of the ML's shortcomings, but come on, the idea of this forum is camaraderie, advice and being helpful.
Ok, peace guys. Actually Timf, despite his regular grumblings about MB, is a very helpful forum member - his brake switch replacement guide and other tech help has been invaluable for many of us... But I agree sometimes Timf's grumblings can go on and on...(no offense Timf! - I enjoy your contributions!)

And apologies if you or anyone else find my continual diatribes about my MB / ML drama boring / irrelevant - but in keeping with internet forums generally I think it's always more healthy to have a balance both good and not so good comments about a particular product / service.
IMHO forums such as this one would be very boring if they were always a 'love fest' and would likely die a slow death as a result. Friendly debate keeps things healthy.
All I try to do is to help those people who have similar problems to those which I have personally experienced.
Sadly because of my less than stellar experience with my ML and MB USA I'm more qualified that others to detail likely problems and solutions.
Of course if you find my ramblings totally inane, please put me on ignore :-)
