but im not real happy with the audio quality. im running an audiovox 100 (fm modulator) which is what most places recommeded, but i still have to crank up my MCS to get a "normal" level of sound through my system. it supposedly switches off any radio frequency to get a full signal from the PS2, but when i switch it off sound level is almost full blast! somethings obviously wrong.
i was told the PS2 doesnt have audio levels which is why the stock radio has to be cranked up. is this true? im cranking this up so much, i get tons of noise.
anyone using a PS2 in their system? anyone running an FM mod instead of an aftermarket deck with aux ins?
do you have a bose system on your ML? I have, and I don't have any problem listening to my system using Audiovox 100 FM modulator. I don't have PS2 though, I have a Blaupaunk DVD player.[:)]

i dont think so jim... it's the stock system not the bose upgrade. i tried a couple different things today and the radio sound is about 3-5x louder than the sound coming from the PS2. i think i just got a shitty install from the stereo shop.
i poked around the connections and i see they looped the audio out of the PS2, into the sony drop down unit then to the FM mod. should'nt it be a direct connection to the FM mod and not through the monitor???
IIRC, what I did on mine was from DVD player to FM MOd. to the MCS set to 88.7 - 89..something and it works great on mine. Are you using after market radio or the MCS OEM? It could be the antenna connection I have to get an addapter to be able to connect my FM mod to the back of my MCS.
thats exactly it jim... i checked out the connections and the idiot looped the connections through this long way around. when i connected it directly to the FM mod, it booms. too bad my rear speakers sound like crap.
has anyone updated their speakers? i want to get some direct replacements. can anyone tell me what size the rears are? are the stock ones 2way?
thanks guys... it's the sony xvm-75. it's 7" viewable and has widescreen (16x9)support. it's really a nice unit. i wanted this one cause of the super low profile.
the screen cost me around $400 and the install was $300. plus the FM mod, power inverter and cables/wires/fuses.
