RE: where can i get good deals for extended warranty
I understood that the MB Extended warranty could only be purchased during the first year of ownership, or when buying a used vehicle from an MB dealer when they have undertaken the "Starmark" used vehicle evaulation.
If this is changed, please report this to the list, as it is valuable information to those without an extended warranty.
I did not expect to keep my ML500 for such a long time, but if I do I would like the option of extending the coverage from 100,000 miles/5 years.
Are their any listers that know if the warranty can be extended for Starmark vehicles at any time?
When I purchased my ML320 in 1999 I got a 8yr/100,000 mile warranty. I believe MB have reduced the maximum warranty period to 100,000 miles/7 years.
For the best price sometimes dealers compete. I got a great price by quoting the best price from another dealer (Herb Gordon, MD?) and getting my local dealer to match it. I preferred this as it may influence goodwill for future repairs.

Having just been through the process, I can give you what I think is the latest information. The Dealer I purchased from told me that when buying a Starmark vehicle, you can only buy additional years of coverage at the time of purchase. New car purchasers have the option of waiting until the end of the regular warranty coverage.
