Reset:Service

Hello,
I have completed oil and air filter change. At the next change I will service the transmission. In the mean time................I forgot how to reset,(it has been two years since I fooled with one) any reminders? I ensured opera were extinguished did first detent second detent select and hold etc (of course not in that order). I would like to figure this out "again" prior to going the easy way out (scan it at the shop).

Secondly where can I find code listings? I have a 16 2, not worried, just curious for someday when something else goes serious. This is something I need in the glovebox for when the wife calls and says "something is wrong, XXXXXXXX".

99 ml320

Kind Regards,

RE: Reset:Service

You might want to try out the Search above on the dark blue bar under the benzworld banner. This has been covered many times. [;)]

RE: Reset:Service

Cool: Actually read the manual..........it finally has been published in the manual. This was a little different on this 99 ML than I remember (maybe why its published).

99 ML320 (check your manual first) Hate to mislead you.

1.Close door, allow lights to fade/extinguish.(one thing the manual does not specify that was still true).

2.Turn key to second detent and within 1 second press trip/ mileage twice. (actually push and release twice, you have enough time. Dont end up pushing the knob through the firewall trying to push the button twice within the first second of going to second detent with the key).

3.Within 10 seconds turn the key back to zero"0" detent.

4.While pushing and holding the trip button, turn to second detent again. Hold for approx 10 seconds until audile beep is heard, release trip button and turn back to zero"0" detent.

You are now reset for 10K.

Best of luck, enjoy your ML.

RE: Reset:Service

Anyone have a "gouge sheet" for codes? Know where to find one to print off so I can put it in the glove box?
