Hello, first post.

I am totally in love with the spare tire carrier. Anybody has one for sale? Where can I get one...

It seems that it is only available in other countries like Canada. I am going to Toronto & Montreal soon...

Cover,Carrier,Console(Holds the wheel.),3 Bolts ,4 Screws,2 Springs...

Please Help!

Welcome aboard! (we seem to be losing our ML brothers these day, nice to see some new members)

You can get that carrier on ebay, it isn't cheap though, expect to pay about $1500.

IIRC it's the cover that needs to be repainted (should be easy for the body shop of your choice).

And the springs are absolutely necessary: the carrier is a lot stainless steel + a heavy rim mounted far behind the rear wheels for extra leverage.

It swings to the side (on the left here, I assume on the right for RHD MLs).

Only time it is a pain in the ass is when you have a trailer hitched: you can't swing the bloody thing to the side because the trailer tongue [?] is in the way, so you can't open the trunk... MB ENGINEERING: WHAT THE #@$Â£ WERE YOU GUYS THINKING !?!?! [}:)]

You must change the springs to HD, another $3,000.
Are you going to use an oversize tire?
