Tire Recommendation?
Search function doesn't seem to work...
I'm looking for something quiet with good tread life.
Thanks

RE: Tire Recommendation?
I am having great experience with the Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G052
This size for 275/55/R17 or my current 280/60/R18

RE: Tire Recommendation?
Thx ae86pwr.
You guys are a big help.
I'd sure like to ditch the 16" minivan wheel/tire set and go to 17's or even 18's now that I have a 4x4 pickup to trash (camping, towing, etc)
One of you guys know where I can get some AMG knockoffs for a decent price? IMO, they are the best looking wheelset for the ML.
I appreciate the advice.

Conti 4X4
I have the Continential Contact 4X4. These tires give a good smooth ride and great all weather handling. I did upgrade to the MB 17 inch wheels from the ML430 and love the set-up[8D]
Good luck!!

RE: Tire Recommendation?
You can get the AMGs pretty cheap (well, compared to my rims!) at www.tirerack.com, but be warned that finding long treadlife tires for them will be tough.

look at tire reviews on m-class outpost
Go to
http://www.keysolutions.com/M-Class and click on Tire Logs. When you get yours, enter it in there. The tire reviews are specific to the M-Class....

RE: Tire Recommendation?
Good point on the 18's
Also, people must like the 17" wheels that come with the 430/500; they are pretty hard to find on eBay

It's a mini-van tire, not a mini-van wheel. Most of the quiet, long lasting tires you are looking for are all season minivan tires... not good for anything other than long life. Most 18" tires are summer sport tires.
Here's the OEM 16" wheel with an absolutely amazing tire combo: BFG A/T. No confusion with minivans. :)

Before you condemn him for making the little kid drive, you have to understand exactly how drunk JPinTO was... [:)]
